Where do lessons take place?

• Lessons take place in-person on the Halifax Peninsula in public locations, with various meeting places available (e.g. outdoors when weather is nice, libraries, coffee shops, etc.) Virtual lessons are also available, as well as outside of Halifax for an added travel fee.

What do I need to bring?

• A camera with a charged battery if you have one, otherwise anything you can take photos with. Smartphones are welcome! To be able to fully explore certain topics, a camera with manual controls (like adjustable aperture, shutter speed, etc.) is recommended.

What is included in the lesson price?

• The lesson itself, as well as an emailed lesson summary and some homework and goals sent to you after the fact. Students taking ongoing lessons also have access to message me between lessons with quick troubleshooting questions or photo review.

Can I bring my partner / friend with me?

• Lessons for multiple people are available at a discounted per-person rate. Please contact me to discuss specifics.

I don't have a camera but I want to buy one, can you help with this?

• Absolutely! I'm happy to offer purchase advice during our lessons, providing guidance on the most up-to-date photography gear available. I can also provide some brief suggestions during the free 10 minute consultation call if you aren't a current student.

What genres of photography can you help me with?

• I can help beginners with any genre you're wanting to explore, as the technical basics and photography foundations are the same. For advanced learners, my professional expertise is concentrated in the genres of wedding, portrait, and some landscape photography.
